LPG stands for Liquid Petroleum Gas and here in the UK is 100%propane.  It is gaining increased support as an environmentally friendly automotive fuel.

LPG and most LP gas comes from the separation of natural gas products or as a by product of refinery operations. It is mainly known to the public as a bottled gas for domestic cooking and heating, but is used in great volume in the industry, agriculture and leisure energy markets.

Performance
It is a myth that running a car on LPG has an adverse effect on a car's performance. In fact there is minimal difference in fuel consumption or performance: your engine will run cleaner, cheaper and perform exactly as when using conventional fuels.
LPG gas is used to power about 4 million cars and vans around the world.

Availability
People worry about the availability of LPG and running out of fuel, as not all filling stations stock it, apart from this list of filling stations growing by a huge amount every year in the UK,  you still have your original petrol tank to fall back on. When you run out of LPG, you simply flick a switch and you're back on the old unleaded. There are now 1000's of  filling stations in the UK that stock LPG, and that number is rising all the time.
The long-term availability of the fuel is assured and the UK produces a surplus of  millions of  tonnes a year from the North Sea.

Safety
In terms of combustion, LPG is similar to petrol. The vehicle's LPG tank is in fact much stronger than a conventional fuel tank as the gas is stored inside it under moderate pressure.
All our LPG tanks comply with and exceed the latest EEC regulations. All tanks are fitted with electric shut off valve, fill point, pressure relief valve  confirming that once again, FES's equipment is amongst the best supplied.
